Dive Deeper

HomePod mini was the first-generation miniaturised version of the HomePod, which made it's debut in November 2020. It served as Apple's smallest home hub and was used as a central hub for an Apple HomeKit setup.

In addition to its home hub capabilities, it was a great small-sized speaker that could be used in dual-stereo mode with an Apple TV 4K for a more immersive surround sound listening experience.

HomePod mini was originally available in just Space Grey and White until a year later in October 2021 when Apple introduced the Yellow, Orange and Blue colours. In July 2024 Apple quietly discontinued the Space Grey, replacing it with Midnight.

The HomePod mini launched was originally sold for £99 up until Apple's price hikes in June 2026. The device was then sold for £129 up until its discontinuation a few months later in October.

This is one of the longest-lasting products Apple has ever sold without refreshing, selling the device for 5 years and 11 months. The HomePod mini was discontinued exactly 6 years to the date the first generation was announced.
