Mac Studio with M1 Max & M1 Ultra was the first new Mac desktop introduced by Apple since the Mac Pro in 2006.

The device had a similar form-factor to the Mac mini, just at a larger scale, with the same Silver Aluminium cube design. The front had two USB-C ports and a card slot, for easy access.

The first-generation Mac Studio was announced during the March 2022 Apple Event, alongside the first-generation Studio Display.

This model would eventually become Apple's highest-end Mac in the lineup in 2026, following the discontinuation of the Mac Pro.

Input

Studio supports a wide range of input devices including Windows keyboards & PlayStation controllers.

4x Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, 2x USB 3 (USB-A) ports, 1x HDMI port, 1x Ethernet port and a headphone jack.

The front has 2x USB-C ports & 1x SDXC card slot. The Front USB-C ports on Mac Studio with M3 Ultra comes with Thunderbolt 4.

Built-in speaker (external speakers recommended for better sound quality).
