MacBook Air (M5)

MacBook Air is Apple's lightweight MacBook built for productivity, coding and creative work. It is available in 2 sizes, 13-inch or 15-inch.

This is the fifth-generation Apple Silicon MacBook Air, and features a fan-less, silent design.

Launched in early 2026, the M5 MacBook Air uses a three-year-old external design, that was first used in the M2 generation. Since that model, all MacBook Airs up to the M5 are almost indistinguishable.

The M5 features a Sky Blue colour option, which was first introduced with the M4. This replaced Space Grey.

Apple doubled the base model storage of this generation, which now starts at 512GB. The M5 MacBook Air launched at £1,099 in the UK, before receiving a price hike up to £1,299 in June.

This devices predecessor was sold from £999.

Who is this Mac for?

MacBook Air is designed for everyday users & multitaskers who have lots of windows or tabs open at once.

It's also great for travel thanks to the thin & light-weight design.

Chip

The chip that powers the MacBook Air is the latest M5 Apple Silicon, which debuted in the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro, October 2025.
