Dive Deeper

MacBook Pro (2007), also known as MacBook Pro (Mid 2007), was Apple's high-end laptop built for creatives and professionals that received updated Intel processors, NVIDIA graphics and more storage and RAM.

It was available in two sizes, 15-inches or 17-inches. The smaller 15-inch model was the first MacBook with an LED-backlit display, which allowed them to eradicate mercury from this model.

The larger 17-inch model retained the older CCFL backlight technology, which still retained mercury.

Apple’s move to begin removing mercury from its devices came amid scrutiny that the material was damaging the environment. This led to Steve Jobs announcing plans to remove the substance from its products.

Whilst the 17-inch model retained this older technology, it could be configured with a higher resolution of 1920 x 1200 for even more space.

November Update
