Apple has invited its US-based retail employees to apply for a chance to help staff the upcoming Apple September event, according to a report from Mark Gurman
The applications have been described as a 'lottery', meaning Apple will randomly select employees to help-out at Apple Park on iPhone launch day.
Apple has reportedly told employees that the event "will take place during the first half of September", following tradition of a launch early in the month.
Gurman reports that the event could take place on Wednesday, 9th September as the US marks a national holiday on the Monday. This will allow attendees time to travel to Apple Park on Tuesday.
This is not expected to mark the return of live events, despite the fact this will be John Ternus' first event as CEO.
Apple instead hosts members of the press, media and content creators for a live screening of the launch in the Steve Jobs theatre.
