Apple’s Basingstoke store, Apple Festival Place, is reportedly closing on the 21st November 2026, according to the Basingstoke Gazette.
Staff at the Apple Store are believed to have been told about the closure date, which is now just two months away. Staff have reportedly been offered positions at Apple’s nearby store at The Oracle in Reading.
Apple’s Reading store is also set to undergo a renovation in the coming weeks, with the store expected to reopen sometime in December. The refurbishment will modernise the retail space and help accommodate additional foot traffic following the closure of the Festival Place store.
The change may frustrate some customers, as Apple The Oracle is roughly a 40-minute drive from Basingstoke. This means customers who previously had an Apple Store on their doorstep will have to travel further for services such as technical support and collecting online orders.
Festival Place opened 15 years ago in August 2011, meaning the Apple Store has served customers in the local area for more than a decade. Its closure will remove Apple’s only retail location in Basingstoke, leaving Reading as the nearest Apple Store for many customers in the area.
