Apple has increased the price of Apple Music and Apple One in some nations, including the UK and US, citing rising licensing costs.
In the US, all 3 tiers of Apple Music subscriptions have seen a price hike. The new prices are as follows:
- Student Plan: Was $5.99, now $6.99
- Individual Plan: Was $10.99, now $11.99
- Family Plan: Was $16.99, now $19.99
The Family Tier and Premier Tier of Apple One has also increased in the US. The new prices are:
- Individual Plan: Remains $19.95
- Family Plan: Was $25.95, now $27.95
- Premier Plan: Was $37.95, now $39.95
In the UK, it appears the Individual and Family Apple Music plans have increased with the Student plan remaining £5.99 a month. The monthly prices of Apple Music are now:
- Student Plan: Remains £5.99
- Individual Plan: Was £10.99, now £11.99
- Family Plan: Was £16.99, now £19.99
Apple One prices remain unchanged in the UK, according to the official Apple Website.
In a statement to Music Business Worldwide, Apple said "As a result of rising licensing costs, Apple Music is increasing its subscription price beginning today".
The price increases are already live in the US, UK and parts of Europe. Other markets could follow.
