Apple has officially rolled out Apple Pay in the world's most populous country, becoming the 101st nation to support Apple's digital payment service.

iPhone and Apple Watch users in India can now add eligible bank cards to their devices to quickly pay at contactless checkouts when shopping, or make payments online on various sites which support Apple Pay. Apple Pay on the web is compatible with iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.

Mac currently does not support Apple Pay in India, though Apple says it is coming soon.

Currently, Apple Pay in India only supports Axis Bank Visa and Mastercard Credit Cards. Notably, some of India's biggest banking brands, including HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and SBI, are absent from the initial rollout. Apple has not shared plans for when or if these banks will support Apple Pay.
