Apple's all new foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, will support the Apple Pencil - an accessory thats been exclusive to the iPad since its launch 11 years ago.
In their annual September keynote, Apple confirmed that the iPhone Duo will support the Apple Pencil (USB-C) later this year.
This is a major pivot for the company, which has had a long standing position that your iPhone doesn't need a stylus, when you can use the Multi-Touch surface with your finger.
Steve Jobs' Opinion
This dates back to former Apple CEO and co-founder Steve Jobs, who famously said at the launch of the original iPhone in 2007:
"Who wants a stylus? You have to get them, and put them away, and you lose them, yuck. Nobody wants a stylus."

Apple Pencil
Since then, Apple has made a stylus. Jobs' comments resurfaced in 2015 when Apple's then-CEO Tim Cook unveiled the Apple Pencil in 2015.
However, the Apple Pencil has never been compatible with the iPhone, with the accessory remaining strictly for iPad models - until now.
Apple's new CEO, John Ternus, has gone against the convention established by the company's founder 19 years later, with the launch of iPhone Duo. Duo is a small, compact iPhone that unfolds to show a 7.6-inch display, which could be described as a mini iPad mini.
It remains unclear if the Apple Pencil will work on both the inner and outer display of the iPhone. It might only be compatible with the inner nano-texture display, when you're using the iPhone Duo like an iPad.
Final Thoughts
It has now been over 15 years since Steve Jobs stepped down as Apple's CEO, and is almost 20 years since his comments on styluses. Apple's new CEO may be finally moving on from these comments, and could be breaking another Steve Jobs convention very soon with the launch of a touchscreen MacBook Pro.
John Ternus has already shown he is not afraid to do something new, by launching the iPhone Duo at his very first keynote, so we could be in for a few very innovative years are Apple.
