Update 16:04 BST: Nvidia has overtaken as the world's most valuable company.

Apple has reclaimed its title as the World's most valuable company, overtaking Nvidia as the stock market opened up today.

Apples current valuation (14:50 BST) sits at $4.90 trillion, whilst Nvidia sits just below at $4.84 trillion. That's approximately $60 billion less.

This title could be short-lived for Apple as they remain neck and neck with Nvidia.

This comes just a month after Apple shares fell following the company's price hikes and comes amid a CEO transition period with John Ternus expected to take over from Tim Cook in a matter of weeks.

Apple has marked some historic moments with its stock price, becoming the first company to reach a valuation of 1, 2 and 3 trillion USD.

Apple could hit $5 trillion today, but it would not be the first company to do so.
