The viral photo of singer ROSÉ holding the new iPhone 18 Pro that appeared photoshopped is "the real deal", both Apple and ROSÉ herself have confirmed.
Last week, Apple posted the viral photo to Instagram, promoting the new iPhone ahead of pre-orders and public release. However, the iPhone looked like it had been edited into ROSÉ's hand, with many accusing Apple of not sending her the new device.
This made the post viral, with over six million likes and over 40,000 comments. These comments include one from Samsung Canada who said:
"If you needed a real phone you could have just asked us 🙂↔️"
The official Instagram accounts for Photoshop and Picsart also left comments. The rest of the comments were majority of people saying the phone looks Photoshopped, edited and AI.
Today, in a new interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, ROSÉ asked if she could clear the air:
"I have the original pic right? And I was like it looks photoshopped, so I agree, but obviously I have the phone... even the original looks photoshopped."
She did confirm that the final photo posted by Apple had undergone some editing, to remove fingerprints, but showed the original photo from her phone.
Apple's Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, also confirmed today that the photo was real, when asked by Gizmodo's Ray Wong.
"It was the real deal, real deal, no AI - she had the real deal... it is 100% legit."
Despite these comments by both ROSÉ and Greg Joswiak, many are still skeptical about how real the photo actually is, even if she did have a real iPhone 18 Pro in the photo.
