Apple has today released watchOS 27.0.1 available to Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 owners to fix an issue where these models would unexpectedly restart.
Owners of Apple's latest watch models, which released just days ago, have found their device to randomly crash and restart itself throughout the day. Users encountered a black loading screen, which commonly appears when you run out of battery and the device dies.
Older Apple Watch models are unaffected.
On Apple's support page about watchOS 27 updates, the company said:
This update provides bug fixes for your Apple Watch including fixing an issue where Apple Watch may restart unexpectedly.
Apple's security releases site lists the update as available to Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 only. Checking for software updates on my Apple Watch Series 10, the system tells me it is still up-to-date running watchOS 27.0.
