Last night, Apple released the first beta for iOS 27.2, following the platform’s initial launch on Monday. Apple has skipped iOS 27.1 for now, giving us a preview of the overhauled Health app, extended Siri AI language support and Apple TV profiles.

Overhauled Health App

Apple previewed the overhauled Heath app at their September Event, announcing that it will launch later this year. The new app is in iOS 27.2, and is rebuilt to provide advice and guidance on your health, with Apple Intelligence.

The App includes recommendations under the insights tab that surfaces details most relevant to you, Health Age, a range of tests with a trainer and a new longevity tab to assess your overall health.

Siri AI Language Support

Apple is expanding Siri AI language support. Currently only available in English, Siri AI will be compatible with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish in iOS 27.2.

Apple TV Profiles

Many streaming services offer a 'Who's Watching?' screen, where the user selects their profile for personalised recommendations and continue watching features.

The Apple TV app on iPhone currently does not support this, and simply uses the Apple Account the device is logged into. In iOS 27.2, profile support is coming to iPhone.

Dual Capture in Group FaceTime Calls

As found by 9to5Mac, Apple is rolling out support for Dual Capture in group calls on FaceTime in iOS 27.2.

Users with an iPhone 17 or newer (excluding iPhone 17e), can use the dual capture feature in the camera app or FaceTime, showing both the front and back cameras at the same time.

App Tracking Transparency

Apple has made changes to its App Tracking Transparency pop-ups, allowing developers to use an alternative prompt in the European Union, following a deal with the EU a few weeks ago. This follows an investigation by Germany's competition regulators.

Release

With iOS 27.1 expected to launch alongside the debut of iPhone Duo, in October, don't expect this update to launch for another couple on months. Looking at previous releases, an early to mid-December launch is most likely.
