Dive Deeper
iPad mini (A20 Pro) is Apple's latest-generation iPad mini model built to be small and pocketable, yet performance-heavy.
This generation benefits from thinner display bezels, a 0.9mm thinner chassis, and is the first iPad mini to use an OLED display. This display technology brings better colour contrast and deeper, more accurate blacks which is great if watching content shot in a darker scene.
This display improvement now means that the iPad mini is the second iPad product line, following the iPad Pro, to adopt OLED.
In addition to these improvements, Apple's latest generation iPad mini uses the A20 Pro chip which was first used in the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max and iPhone Duo.
This brings new AI capabilities to the iPad mini for the first time, including support for expressive Siri voices and more powerful on-device models.
Apple has also moved the front selfie camera of the iPad mini to the landscape side, which is better for video calls.
The price has seen an increase with this generation, as it now starts at £699 but starts with the same 128GB of storage. If upgrading to the 256GB or higher variants, a nano-texture screen finish is available at an additional cost.
iPad mini is one of just two iPad models to have a True Tone flash, and this model is available in just two colours; a new Midnight, and Starlight.
Apple has also made improvements to the design so that this is the first dust and water resistant iPad mini, with an IP67 rating which can be submerged under water up to 1 metre for 30 minutes.
