Dive Deeper
iPhone 6s utilised the same external design as its predecessor iPhone 6, but brought major improvements to the camera systems and introduced 3D Touch technology.
It made its debut alongside the iPhone 6s Plus, the device’s larger counterpart.
3D Touch
The new 3D Touch technology could detect how firm the display was pressed, unlocking the ability to long press an app icon for quick actions or long press content, such as a notification, for a quick preview.
Camera Improvements
Apple introduced many camera upgrades with the iPhone 6s. The back camera jumped up from 8MP to 12MP, the front camera went from 1.2MP to 5MP, and the iPhone supported 4K video recording at 30fps.
In addition to these improvements, Apple debuted Live Photos with the iPhone 6s, which captures movement and sound around the moment you took the photo.
Durability
Apple used 7000-series aluminium on the chassis to strengthen the body of the device, following 'Bendgate' on the previous model. Apple never acknowledged if this is why the strengthened material was used.
Headphone Jack
iPhone 6s was the final iPhone model with a 3.5mm headphone jack before the controversial decision to remove the port from its successor.
