Apple has today released the third developer beta of its upcoming 27.2 releases, which includes the overhauled health app expected later this year.
The third betas of iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, watchOS 27.2, visionOS 27.2 and tvOS 27.2 are now available to Apple Developers as part of the Apple beta software programme, with downloads listed on Apple's developer site.
Apple's 27.2 updates expand the language support for Siri AI, which was exclusively available in English at launch, and debut the overhauled Apple Health app to give you better insight into your health data. In addition to these changes, Apple has also made minor tweaks across it's operating systems.
New in 27.2
Here's whats new in version 27.2 across Apple's platforms:
Siri AI extended language support
Apple has already confirmed that these languages will come at some point in October, potentially as part of iOS 27.1 or iOS 27.2:
- 🇫🇷 French
- 🇯🇵 Japanese
- 🇰🇷 Korean
- 🇵🇹 Portugese
- 🇪🇸 Spanish
Overhauled Health app
Apple's overhauled health app that gives you better insight into your health data is currently available when running iOS or iPadOS 27.2 betas. This update includes Health Age, new fitness tests and a longevity tab that provides you with an overview of your health.
We have already done a deep dive into this new app, which you can read more about below.
New volume and brightness sliders in macOS
Apple has adjusted the look of the volume and brightness sliders in macOS Golden Gate 27.2, simplifying the interface and making the icons larger.
This follows last year's overhaul which removed the large square overlay in favour of smaller glassy sliders that appear at the top near the menu bar.
Apple TV Profiles
The Apple TV app has a new 'who's watching?' interface on the iPhone and iPad TV app, where users can select different profiles rather than just using the profile attached to the Apple Account on that device.
This is similar to what is already on tvOS, or the opening screen on Netflix and other streaming services.
Release Date
There is no word on when these updates will release, but Apple will need to released iOS 27.1 first.
We're expecting iOS 27.1 to launch alongside the iPhone Duo on the 23rd of October, which is likely an update to help support the new iPhone form factor.
iOS 27.2 could come shortly after, but .2 updates have historically come later in December.
