Apple has announced the M6 & M5 Pro Mac mini, starting from £899. Mac mini pre-orders begin today, with the device available from the 22nd September 2026.

Apple says that Mac mini is "the leading desktop for always-on agentic computing."

Overview

The base model Mac mini starts with the same 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD as its M4 predecessor. The new base M6 chip has 2 more CPU cores, and 2 more GPU cores than the base M4, with a 12-core CPU and 12-core GPU.

Apple seems to be pushing AI performance with the latest generation of Mac mini, upgrading to a dual 16-core neural engine, the addition of neural accelerators and up to 170GB/s of memory bandwidth.

The new Mac mini has Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.

The devices external design and array of ports remains the same as the previous generation.
