Apple has announced that Apple SouthGate, Bath, will reopen on Friday, 23 October 2026, following a major refurbishment that began in the summer.

Apple SouthGate closed on 5 July, according to SouthGate shopping centre's Facebook page. The refurbishment has taken 110 days, making it a considerably longer closure than some recent Apple Store renovations, such as Apple Lakeside, which closed for just one day last month.

Apple has updated the retail page for its Bath store, which now says:

Our store is temporarily closed for refurbishment - we will reopen on Friday, 23 October.

Apple SouthGate first opened on 27 March 2010, just a few months before the original iPad launched in the UK. Shoppers attending the original opening could purchase the latest iPhone 3GS, alongside a range of iPod models including the third-generation iPod touch, fifth-generation iPod nano, third-generation iPod shuffle and iPod classic.

This year, the store will reopen on 23 October - the same day the iPhone Duo launches, Apple's first foldable iPhone.

Shoppers attending the grand reopening of Apple SouthGate will therefore also be able to mark the launch of Apple's first-ever foldable iPhone at the newly refurbished store.

Following a major refurbishment, an opening coinciding with iPhone Duo launch day and the potential of many locals visiting their newly refurbished Apple Store, the reopening could be a particularly busy one. If you're planning to attend, expect queues.

While Apple has not confirmed the store's opening hours, its hours before the closure were:

  • Monday to Saturday: 9am - 6pm
  • Sunday: 11am - 5pm

However, the store could operate special opening hours for the reopening and iPhone Duo launch. When the iPhone 18 Pro launched last month, Apple retail locations across the UK opened early at 8am.
