Apple has announced it's most powerful M-series chip yet, the M5 Ultra, which makes it's debut in the Mac Studio.

The new Mac Studio starts from £2,499, with the M5 Max chip. Customers can also upgrade to the M5 Ultra Mac Studio, starting from £5,499.
Overview
M5 Max
The base model M5 Max chip has a 18-core CPU, 32-core GPU and starts from 36GB of unified memory. The device can also be upgraded with a 40-core GPU, which unlocks the following memory options:
- 48GB
- 64GB
- 96GB
- 128GB
- 256GB
Storage starts at 512GB, and can be upgrade to 1TB, 2TB, 4TB and 8TB.
M5 Ultra
Apples new most powerful chip succeeds the M3 Ultra, which launched in the Mac Studio last year.
The base model M5 Ultra chip has a 30-core CPU, 64-core GPU. The M5 Ultra can also be upgraded with a 36-core CPU and 80-core GPU. Both models have the choice of either 96GB or 256GB of unified memory.
Storage for the M5 Ultra starts from 1TB, and can be upgraded to 2, 4, 8 or 16TB of SSD storage.
The top-spec M5 Ultra Mac Studio costs £18,299.
