Apple has already had a busy year, launching seven new products in March alone, announcing a CEO transition in April and unveiling Siri AI at WWDC in June. After a quieter July, Apple is preparing another wave of exciting releases, including new Macs, a refreshed iPad mini and a potential Foldable iPhone.
Reminder: all products discussed below are rumours and not official announcements from Apple.
iPhone
This September, Apple is expected to change-up its release cycle by focusing only on their higher end flagship models.
This means we might only see the release of iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and the all-new iPhone Fold (or iPhone Ultra, according to some rumours).
Design
Apple's 2026 pro lineup will be a refinement of the 17 Pro series. The Ceramic Shield back could be improved so that the colour better matches the Aluminium finish rather than standing out.
The Pro iPhones may also be slightly thicker - to accommodate for a larger battery.
Other than that, iPhone 18 Pro will look almost identical to iPhone 17 Pro apart from the new colours, which are expected to be Light Blue, Cherry, Silver and Dark Grey.
Camera
iPhone 18 Pro could receive Variable Aperture, a mechanical addition to the camera that physically adjusts how much light it lets in.
This works in a similar way to the human eye, where the pupil grows bigger to let more light in when it's dark and shrinks in brighter light.
The camera would open wider when in night mode to let in more light, reducing the darkness and grainy effect of the photo.
This will reduce the iPhones reliance on software and AI image processing, providing a more authentic camera experience.
Folding iPhone
Apple is expected to debut a wide foldable iPhone in a couple months time, marking the biggest form-factor change in the devices history.
It is expected to resemble a slightly smaller iPad mini when fully unfolded and will have a front display, so the iPhone can be used when closed.
The device will have a dual camera system and could swap Face ID for Touch ID, which would make it the first iPhone to have Touch ID since the 3rd generation iPhone SE in 2022.
Mac
Apple is expected to refresh all three of its desktops later this year and might even launch another generation of MacBook Pros - despite already launching some earlier this year.
Mac mini, Mac Studio & iMac
Apple could update Mac mini and Mac Studio before the end of the year with new chips.
Mac mini is expected to launch with M5 and M5 Pro and Mac Studio could debut the M5 Ultra, the most powerful Mac chip.
iMac is also expected to be refreshed with the M5 chip.
MacBook Pro
In addition to refreshed desktops, MacBook Pro could be getting a Touchscreen display this autumn.
The touchscreen MacBook Pros will use the current generation M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, and will have a new industrial design.
This new design includes the addition of the Dynamic Island, which first appeared on the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022. The screen may also be transitioning from mini-LED to OLED, for better contrast and deeper blacks.
iPad
iPad and iPad mini are set to be overhauled this autumn. The changes are expected to include a better display on iPad mini and Apple Intelligence on the entry-level iPad.
Entry-level iPad
Apples most basic iPad is the only device out of the current iPhone, iPad and Mac lineup that does not support Apple Intelligence. This is because it uses an older A16 chip and does not meet the minimum 8GB RAM requirements.
The next iPad is set to receive the A18 chip, currently found in iPhone 16, along with 8GB of RAM so the device is finally compatible with Apple Intelligence.
iPad mini
The current iPad mini is almost 2 years old and uses an older LCD display. The next mini will receive an OLED display, for better colour and deeper blacks.
It is also expected to receive a chip bump from A17 Pro to A19 Pro.
Apple Watch
Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 are set to launch this September, with incremental upgrades.
Series 12
Apple Watch Series 12 will have the same design as the current Series 11, which is itself the same design as on the Series 10.
Touch ID was initially rumoured, though this is unlikely as Apple Watch users only interact with their password a couple times a day.
The Series 12 may get a new high blood pressure notification and a new S11 or S12 chip. It is unclear if this would be enabled by the newer chip or if the feature would trickle down to older models, as seen with other features before.
Ultra 4
The blood pressure notification feature will also debut on Apple Watch Ultra 4, which will mark the biggest redesign to the product since its introduction.
The titanium case is expected to be slimmed down to be more lightweight and more comfortable to wear.
Despite the thinner design, major improvements are expected to battery life, so that the Apple Watch lasts even longer.
HomePod & Apple TV
Apples home and TV category could be one of the most neglected product categories in Apple history, with the current HomePod mini set to celebrate its 6th birthday this year.
Following the unveiling of Siri AI at WWDC26 in June, new HomePod, HomePod mini and Apple TV models are set to launch with the improved chatbot version of Siri and Apple Intelligence.
Prices for these devices are expected to remain the same, after the company raised prices in June.
Final Thoughts
2026 is shaping up to be a major year for Apple as the company expands into more product categories than ever before.
And it's not just devices we should be looking out for - version 27 of Apple's platforms will debut this Autumn, with performance improvements, design enhancements and the reimagined version of Siri.
