New images from Apple leaker Sonny Dickson have emerged on X, showing two potential camera protectors for Apple's upcoming foldable iPhone, expected to release next month.

The images show a horizontal pill shaped camera plateau, with two lens cutouts, as well as cutouts potentially for the flash, LiDAR sensor or microphone.

The camera protectors are in Silver and Dark Blue, clashing with previous rumours which expected a black model.

Apple did not release a black iPhone 17 Pro last September, to some people's disappointment, and are not expected to bring black back this year.

How Credible Is Sonny Dickson?

Sonny Dickson has a good track record, providing a mostly-accurate full colour lineup of the iPhone 17 family last summer, a couple months before launch.

Whilst he incorrectly reported that the 17 Pro would come in black, and missed out the Sage colour variant of iPhone 17 - he did identify a new iPhone Air model, the new-look pro iPhones and revealed Apple's redesigned clear case for the pro lineup.

Dickson also revealed the design of iPhone 16e one month before launch, though he referred to it as iPhone SE 4.

This shows that whilst he may be a reliable source, not everything turns out to be true. Therefore, black may not be fully ruled out until launch day in early September and these colours are not set in stone.
