Apple has today brought its attention back to the Smart Home product category, with a new HomePod mini, Apple TV 4K, and all-new 'HomeView' Smart Home Hub. Here's everything you need to know:

It's been a big day for the product category, which has not seen meaningful updates in several years. It was on this day six years ago that Apple announced the first-generation HomePod mini, alongside the iPhone 12 lineup. At the time, you could still buy Intel-powered Macs.

In 2022, Apple released its last generation of the Apple TV 4K, which made its debut in the same year as the now iconic Dynamic Island.

As you might be able to tell, this day has been a long time coming. This product launch was supposedly slated for 2024, when the company introduced Apple Intelligence and its reimagined more intelligent Siri.

This Siri faced two years of delay, releasing just last month to the public, which is why we have now finally got new home products.

HomePod mini

The new HomePod mini carries a similar design to its predecessor, with the same orb shape and mesh speaker design. The glass top, which shows Siri's glow, has been updated to reflect the new colours of Siri AI.

Speaking of Siri, Siri AI support comes to the HomePod mini for the first time, powered by the Apple Intelligence-capable S10 chip, which first debuted in the Apple Watch Series 10 in 2024. This is a five-generation jump up from the S5 chip.

Other than Siri's new glow, you will only be able to tell it's the new device if you buy the device in one of its new colours: Pink or Green. In addition to these new colours, Blue, White and Midnight are back in slightly different shades.

Apple TV 4K

The new Apple TV is powered by the A19 chip which debuted in the iPhone 17 last September.

This chip is a major jump up from the A15 Bionic, and will increase the TV Box's performance when gaming on Apple Arcade or simply help reduce loading times when using the tvOS operating system.

Apple Intelligence and Siri AI is now available on Apple TV, which will be a significant upgrade for Siri Remote users.

Visually, the device has the same cube design, available in black.

HomeView

HomeView is the flagship launch of this product launch event, featuring a speaker base and 7-inch screen that can recognise up to six different people, so it can surface information relevant to each user.

HomeView is available in Silver, Space Grey, Starlight and Rose Pink, has an A18 chip and has Siri AI built-in.

Apple also offers a wall-mounted option, available in Silver or Space Grey.
