Product Information:

PowerMac G5 was Apple's top-spec and most expensive Mac available when it launched in 2003. The device was succeeded by the Mac Pro lineup, that Apple went on to sell for 19 years.

PowerMac G5 utilised a new Aluminium chassis design, with a perforated front and back mesh. Despite discontinuation just a few years later, this design lived on until 2013 in the first generations of the Mac Pro.

During it's lifetime, the device reportedly had some sound defects, where it would leak noise, a problem for professionals that rely on audio and sound.

Whilst the chassis was larger than its predecessors, the PowerMac G5 only had room for a single optical drive and two hard drives, as the cooling system took up lots of room. This led to some manufacturers creating hard drive brackets to mount from the front fans, that allowed for three more drives.
