For anyone following Apple news, it’s been a busy October. With the Apple Home product launch on the 13th where the company introduced an all-new product line, and pre-orders for another all-new product taking place tomorrow, you'd expect Apple to take a break from new products for the rest of the month.

However, there could be lots more to come in just a matter of weeks, with an all-day media event planned for the 28th of October, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

On X, the Bloomberg Editor said:

Apple is now inviting some media to an all-day product launch experience on Oct. 28 in Los Angeles. This is for the touch-screen MacBooks, iPad mini, M6 Macs.

If these three products do materialise, they could potentially be a further three products announced this month and available to pre-order, following the Apple HomeView, Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2 announcements earlier this week.

So what are we expecting?

iPad mini

The next-generation iPad mini set for launch later this month will be the first new model in two years, following the launch of iPad mini (A17 Pro) in October 2024.

The new model is expected to bring major improvements to the display with OLED, a new speaker system and thinner bezels. It could also feature the most powerful A-series chip currently available, the A20 Pro, which was announced just a month ago with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo.

It could also receive a 120Hz ProMotion display, up from the current 60Hz, but this remains up in the air and it could still ship with the latter.

iMac (M6)

The M6 iMac is set to be a less ground-breaking release, but will also mark the iconic all-in-ones’ first refresh in two years.

New colours are expected, and the newer chip will likely bring improved performance and potentially more CPU and GPU cores to the device. However, Apple usually uses binned chips in its base model iMac models, meaning this could come at an additional cost.

Touchscreen MacBook

Yes - Apple is reportedly set to launch its first ever touchscreen Mac, 16 years after Apple's visionary co-founder Steve Jobs declared that touchscreen laptops were "ergonomically terrible". This was likely in the back of Apple engineers’ minds as they created this device, but the company is looking to make advancements in the laptop space and match offerings from Windows PC manufacturers.

Additionally, the MacBook Pro could receive a screen upgrade from mini-LED to OLED, for deeper blacks, and Apple could be finally starting to phase out the notch on the MacBook by introducing the Dynamic Island to the device. Dynamic Island first made its debut on the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022, and has quickly become an iconic feature of almost all iPhone models since.

We don't have many details on the appearance of the new MacBook Pro, though it is expected to be lighter. Mark Gurman originally claimed it could be "significantly lighter", but later withdrew that claim.

What has Apple already announced this month?

Apple has already announced a range of new Apple Home products including an updated Apple TV 4K, the first new HomePod mini in almost six years and the all-new Apple HomeView.

All three devices mark the company's renewed focus on the smart home market, partnering with LG and other consumer tech brands to launch the Apple Home Collection. This is a range of smart home accessories such as cameras, doorbells and lights, built in collaboration with Apple that seamlessly pair with Apple Home.

Apple's own new hardware has focused on Siri AI, the revamped version of the company's intelligent assistant which has been the biggest letdown of previous HomePod models.

The Apple Home Collection will be available at a later date, and the new Apple TV 4K and Apple HomeView will release on the 13th of November. HomePod mini 2 is one of two Apple products that release this month. iPhone Duo launches on the 23rd of October, followed by the mini a week later on the 30th of October.

Remember iPhone 18 Pro?

If we go back just 45 days ago, Apple was yet to announce its flagship iPhone 18 Pro, all-new foldable iPhone Duo, refreshed Home products and had a different CEO.

October has been so busy that it's easy to overlook September, which saw seven new products introduced to the market:

  • Mac mini (M6 & M5 Pro)
  • Mac Studio (M5 Max & M5 Ultra)
  • iPhone 18 Pro
  • iPhone 18 Pro Max
  • AirPods 5
  • Apple Watch Series 12
  • Apple Watch Ultra 4

And with the company's six software releases, Siri AI debut and somewhat-random opening of it's first ever live music venue, these upcoming product launches could help mark one of Apple's most substantial autumns in a while.

The Numbers

  • Six software releases
  • 11 new products
  • Three more products potentially on their way
  • Two new product form-factors: iPhone Duo and Apple HomeView
  • One new CEO
  • One new live music venue
  • Siri AI's debut

Final Thoughts

A busy (and expensive!) month for Apple fans, and it looks set to continue.

The upcoming iPhone Duo could introduce entirely new capabilities to the iPhone. HomeView marks Apple's biggest advancement into the smart home in more than six years, while the rumoured touchscreen MacBook Pro could represent the biggest change to the Mac since Apple Silicon arrived in 2020.

This could be the final stretch of major Apple product launches for 2026, before the company's attention turns to its expected spring 2027 releases.
