Apple has fixed a vulnerability with the iCloud+ Hide My Email feature, according to a report from 404 Media.

iCloud+ and Apple One subscribers can use the Hide My Email feature to generate a random email address that forwards to their real address, so that they don't need to share any personal details with another party.

Last month, a vulnerability was discovered where anyone could view the @icloud.com email address behind a hidden email. This was reported to Apple.

Following this report, Apple claimed the bug had been fixed, though further testing proved otherwise.

The company now says that a second fix was made earlier this month, telling 404 media that they "deployed a patch for the issue on July 3" and that the vulnerability is now "fully resolved".

404 Media claims that Apple knew about this vulnerability for over a year and only patched the bug following their reporting.

Despite the patch, Apple is facing a potential lawsuit over their handling of this vulnerability, according to PC Mag.
