Apples incoming CEO, John Ternus, has reportedly hired a former VP of hardware engineering, who retired in 2022, for his management team.

Mark Gurman reports that former Apple VP of hardware engineering, Laura Legros, has been hired by Ternus to serve ”cross functionally with different parts of the company.”

Legros has appeared in Apple Events, introducing the 2018 redesign of the MacBook Air and unveiling the redesigned iPad Air.

She was also reportedly a ‘trusted’ deputy to John Ternus, potentially highlighting the reason for her return.

Ternus will take over from current CEO, Tim Cook, on 1st September.

This appointment could be the first of many management and executive shake-ups yet to come, after a stable 15 year run under Cook.

It is common practice for new leaders to reshuffle the executive team in their first few years. This includes Tim Cook, who reportedly fired Apple’s then-software chief, Scott Forstall, in 2012 - 1 year after his appointment as CEO.
