Apple's high-end Studio Display XDR appears to emit smoke in a new video posted to social media by @usgraphics.
The X account, which belongs to Arizona-based graphics company, US Graphics, posted the video of smoke emerging from the bottom grills of the display.
Holyshit Apple Studio Display XDR just exploded. Loud pop sound and then leaked capacitor smoke for good 30s. Sorry for the terrible video, caught the last few seconds because I wanted to unplug it first. pic.twitter.com/6l0YJx4Wzd

The video has not been verified by Everything Apple, and it remains unclear why the device failed. It is also important to note that there is no evidence this is a wider issue related to the Studio Display XDR.
The display was a brand-new unit, according to @usgraphics.
Responding to a comment asking what happened before it 'blew up', they said:
"It was within 30 mins of turning on a brand new display that I got as a replacement because of these issues:"
Their response is referencing a previous post of theirs, discussing Adobe RGB calibration discrepancies between Studio Display XDR units. This does not appear to be related to the smoke incident.
Apple has not provided a response publicly, as to why this occurred.
Studio Display XDR launched earlier this year, replacing the Pro Display XDR.
