macOS 27.0.1 and iOS 27.0.01 released

Apple released its first updates to its platforms since version 27 launched in mid-September. Apple rolled out iOS 27.0.1, iPadOS 27.0.1, macOS Golden Gate 27.0.1 and visionOS 27.0.1.
These releases included a fix for the Face ID bug on iPhone 18 Pro that caused the device to unexpectedly restart, alongside other 'bug fixes' that the company didn't explain.

Apple TV Sees Biggest Weekly Viewership Numbers Ever

Apple told publication Deadline on Tuesday that Apple TV had its best-ever week post-Emmy wins, where the company scored wins for Widow's Bay, Pluribus and Palm Royale. Additionally, Apple said the premiere of Mayday starring Ryan Gosling helped boost the numbers. Apple did not share the exact numbers, but said viewership was up 67% year-over-year.

Apple Pay Now Available in India

On Wednesday, Apple rolled out Apple Pay in the world's most populous country.
India is the 101st nation where the payment service is available, though bank compatibility in India remains limited with just one participating banking brand at the moment.
Apple Pay in India is available on iPhone, iPad and Mac with support yet to come for Mac.

Apple Music is now available in Albania, Brunei, Burkina Faso and Pakistan.
This service’s expansion comes after the launch of Apple Pay in India and launch of Apple TV in over 50 new countries in the past few weeks.

Apple Has a £19 Fix for the iPhone Duo's Crease

An Apple executive in an interview this week revealed that the nano-texture layer on the iPhone Duo is replaceable to help minimise the crease.
AppleCare's service and repair page shows this cover, available to be replaced for £19.
This layer has been made to minimise the crease, though this may become more visible over time with regular use. This option appears to be an easy way to replace the front display when a crease becomes visible.

Apple Store in Bath Reopening Date Revealed

Apple this morning quietly revealed the reopening date of its Apple SouthGate store in Bath, UK. First spotted by Everything Apple, the location reopens on Friday, 23rd October, which is also iPhone Duo availability day.
The Store has undergone a major refurbishment, and originally opened 16 years ago in 2010.
